Big Butt Surgery

Having a curvier figure with a big butt has become a desirable aesthetic in recent years. While it’s possible to enhance your butt with the right diet and workouts that build muscle in the area, plastic surgery offers more pronounced, long-lasting results. In this article, we’ll discuss how you can get a bigger butt with cosmetic surgery.

Butt Shapes

Most people have one of the four butt shapes shown below. A Brazilian Butt Lift or a combination of buttock implants and fat transfer can reshape your butt into a more desirable shape.

A-Shaped

Big Butt Surgery

A-shaped (or inverted heart-shaped butts) are narrower at the top and have more volume in the lower region, resembling an A-shape or inverted heart. Generally, people with an A-shaped bottom have an hourglass figure, with a slim waist and wide hips. It is a conventionally desirable shape, and those who have this figure usually want to enhance it.

V-shaped

Big Butt Surgery

A V-shaped (or inverted) butt has less volume in the lower butt than in the upper buttocks. As a result, the butt is usually narrower at the base, resembling a V or an inverted triangle. Patients with a V-shaped bottom often undergo BBL to achieve fuller hips and a rounder bottom.

H-Shaped

Big Butt Surgery

Those with H-shaped butts (also known as square butts) lack curves in the waist and hips and often have love handles (excess fat around the waist). As a result, the buttock appears boxy and flat, like a square. Most women with an H-shaped bottom undergo BBL to achieve an A-shape. However, patients having a male BBL often want a square-shaped butt, as it aligns with the male anatomy, which tends to be flatter and less curvy.

O-Shaped

Big Butt Surgery

An O-shaped (or round-shaped) butt, also known as a bubble butt, is round in shape with equal amounts of fat across the buttocks. It is another conventionally desirable shape among women, and those with this figure often undergo BBL to accentuate their roundness or achieve an A-shape.

What Impacts Butt Shapes?

Your skeletal structure and hormones determine the shape of your butt, which are responsible for the formation of your hip bones and pelvis, the amount and distribution of body fat, the size of your gluteal muscles, and the way your glute muscles attach to the thigh bone. To transform your buttock shape, your surgeon will need to use liposuction and fat grafts to contour your waist, hips, thighs, and butt.

Cosmetic Surgeries for a Bigger Butt

At the CREO Clinic, our surgeon can enhance your butt with Brazilian Butt Lift surgery, buttock implant surgery, or a combination of both.

Brazilian Butt Lift

A Brazilian Butt Lift adds volume and reshapes the butt by extracting fat from areas of your body where it’s in excess and injecting it into your butt.

Benefits

  • A BBL improves the body’s curves and proportions by enhancing and reshaping the hips and buttocks to help you attain your desired figure.
  • Liposuction removes excess fat from areas surrounding the buttocks, such as the hips and thighs, further sculpting your figure.
  • Compared to buttock augmentation with implants, a BBL appears more natural and leaves much smaller scars.
  • A BBL improves the appearance of hip dips by adding volume to create fuller hips.

Before and After

Cost

Typically, prices for a BBL at the CREO Clinic start from £7,900. However, prices vary depending on the number and size of your liposuction treatment areas and other surgical needs. You will receive the exact cost of your procedure following a consultation with our surgeon.

Procedure

After harvesting the fat cells with liposuction, the surgeon will cleanse and purify the fat and prepare it for injection into the butt. Dr Omar Tillo performs BBL procedures using the BEST-F technique, which he developed as a safer alternative to the traditional BBL. It requires the surgeon to inject the fat over the gluteal muscle while monitoring the process with an ultrasound device to ensure precision.

Recovery

Immediately after the surgery, your butt, hips, and liposuctioned areas will be swollen, tender, and bruised. These side effects will gradually dissipate over the coming days and weeks. Patients usually return to office work and light daily activities after one week and resume more strenuous activities after four weeks. Follow our BBL aftercare and recovery tips to help manage your recovery process.

Results

Following the surgery, you will notice an immediate enhancement to your butt. However, the final BBL results will be visible in 3-6 months after the fat grafts settle and your butt has fluffed. By this time, your swelling will also have subsided to reveal a more enhanced and contoured butt. Additionally, the final results of the liposuctioned areas will emerge in 6-12 weeks.

Buttock Implants

In buttock or gluteal implant surgery, we use medical-grade silicone implants to reshape and add volume to the bottom. Unlike a BBL, butt implants only offer a posterior projection to the butt and do not reshape or contour other areas of the body.

Benefits

  • Buttock implants are suitable for people who don’t have enough body fat for a BBL. Although it is possible to perform a skinny BBL, the lack of excess fat tissue limits the enhancement and shape that the surgeon can create.
  • The greater certainty of the final results of a butt implant surgery appeals to some patients. In contrast, the body absorbs a percentage of butt fillers or fat cells from a BBL (although the surgeon accounts for this loss by injecting as much volume as possible).
  • As implants are available in various sizes, they can deliver a more substantial enhancement to the buttocks than can be safely achieved with BBLs or fillers.

Cost

Prices for buttock implants at the CREO clinic in London generally start from £10,900. Depending on the patient’s needs, the cost of buttock implant surgery varies. Following a consultation with Dr Tillo, you will receive the price of your buttock implant surgery.

Procedure

It usually takes between one and two hours to perform a buttock implant procedure under general anaesthesia. The surgeon makes an incision, usually in the gluteal folds or between the buttock cheeks. Afterwards, the surgeon inserts the implants, usually inside the gluteal muscle (intramuscular placement). Finally, the surgeon closes the incision.

Recovery

You can expect swelling, soreness, and bruising after your buttock implant surgery. It will take two to three weeks for these symptoms to subside, after which you can return to work and resume other light activities. Furthermore, your surgeon will recommend that you wait at least a month before you begin exercising again.

Results

After your buttock implant surgery, you will be able to see the results immediately, as the implants will add a noticeable enhancement to your bottom. You will be able to see the final results about three to six months after the surgery. By this time, the post-surgical swelling and other side effects will have largely subsided, and your bottom will look and feel natural.

Which Procedure is Best?

The procedure that is best for you depends on your desired results and your anatomy. In general, a BBL is a better option for patients who want to enhance their hips and butt to achieve a curvier hourglass figure and have areas of excess fat they wish to sculpt. Whereas, butt implants may be more suitable for people with less body fat who want a dramatic enhancement.

Dr Omar Tillo is a double board-certified body contouring expert specialising in Brazilian Butt Lift and buttock implant surgery.

Dr Tillo is a key opinion leader on BBL surgery and has developed a safer method of performing BBL, known as the BEST-F technique. By injecting the fat superficially over the muscle and monitoring the placement using a guided ultrasound device, this method allows the surgeon to add volume safely and achieve a more precise shape.

Similarly, buttock implant surgery requires extensive surgical skills and expertise. The surgeon must choose the correct size and shape of implants and use the appropriate surgical techniques to meet the patient’s unique requirements. As such, Dr Tillo is one of few surgeons specialising in this surgery in the UK.
