What Is Profhilo?
Profhilo is a hyaluronic acid-based skin remodelling treatment to hydrate and tighten the skin, creating a more youthful appearance. When injected, Profhilo also helps to promote the production of collagen, smoothing out fine lines and wrinkles while treating skin laxity. Unlike dermal fillers, Profhilo does not add additional volume but instead improves the overall skin quality.
At the CREO Clinic, we offer doctor-led aesthetic treatments with Dr. Sabina, an expert in injectable treatments like Profhilo. Through a careful consultation process, Dr. Sabina will work with you to create a treatment plan right for you and your dehydrated or wrinkled skin so that you can get the most out of Profhilo.

What Does Profhilo Treat?
Profhilo works to boost the skin’s hydration and tightness by stimulating the body’s own production of collagen and elastin (a process referred to as neocollagenesis). In doing so, Profhilo can, therefore, be used to target skin laxity and smooth out fine lines and wrinkles. In addition, Profhilo works to improve skin tone and overall quality, giving you a glowing and refreshed appearance.
Areas Profhilo Helps
Profhilo is usually used in specific areas of the face and/or neck but can also be used in other areas such as the decollete, arms, and hands to tighten the skin and create a more youthful appearance.
Benefits Of Profhilo Treatment
There are several key benefits of Profhilo treatment:
- Natural-looking results – skin appears rejuvenated and glowing
- Improves the skin’s quality – skin texture, tightness, and hydration are significantly boosted by stimulating the body’s own collagen and elastin production
- Smoothes out fine lines and wrinkles – creating a youthful aesthetic
- Non-invasive treatment – non-surgical, with no anaesthetic required
- Quick procedure that requires no downtime
- No incisions or scarring
How Does Profhilo Work?
Profhilo contains hyaluronic acid, a gel-like substance that is found naturally in the body but depletes as we age. Profhilo helps to replenish this lost hyaluronic acid, helping the skin absorb and retain moisture, boosting the skin’s hydration, and improving its appearance.
When injected, Profhilo also stimulates neocollagenesis, the production of new collagen and elastin. In doing so, the loose skin looks smoother and tighter, helping to minimise fine lines and wrinkles for a more youthful aesthetic.
How Is Profhilo Administered?
Profhilo is administered via a small needle to five pre-determined bio-aesthetic points on each side of the face. These injection sites are positioned in a way to avoid any major nerves and blood vessels.
Profhilo can also be used on other parts of the body, each requiring a different number of injections to thoroughly cover the area.
Who’s A Good Candidate For Profhilo Treatment?
A good candidate for Profhilo injections should meet the following criteria:
- Be over the age of 30 and wishes to treat the early signs of ageing
- Wants to improve their skin quality to produce a more rejuvenated appearance
- Seeks to restore levels of collagen and elastin caused by ageing to improve the tightness of the skin while minimising the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles
What Does Profhilo Treatment Involve
Consultation Prior To Treatment
Before treatment, Dr. Sabina will thoroughly assess your suitability for Profhilo, discussing your cosmetic concerns to ensure Profhilo is the best treatment for you. If you are deemed a good candidate for Profhilo, Dr. Sabina will design a tailored treatment plan to ensure that you get the most out of Profhilo.
Profhilo injections consist of two separate sessions spaced four weeks apart for the best possible results. Injections will be made across five different points on each side of the face to ensure that the hyaluronic acid in the product evenly covers the area. Other parts of the body may also be treated with varying amounts of product.
What Does The Recovery Timeline Look Like For Profhilo Treatment?
There is minimal downtime required for Profhilo treatment, and the vast majority of patients are able to return to daily activities immediately. However, some side effects from the hyaluronic acid, such as swelling and redness, may be present, though they should resolve within a few days.
When Can I Expect To See Results?
The initial results will be visible one week after the first treatment, with skin appearing smoother and more hydrated. However, the full effects of Profhilo will only be visible once new collagen and elastin have been produced, which can take up to 4-6 weeks after the second treatment. After this, you will be able to enjoy the full effect of your newly taut, glowing complexion.
Before And After Results
Are there multiple treatment sessions required for Profhilo?
Profhilo consists of two separate sessions spaced one month apart. Although results are visible after the first session, the full effect of Profhilo will only be visible after the second treatment.
What are the effects of Profhilo on the skin?
Profhilo helps to tighten and smooth the skin by boosting the skin’s hydration and stimulating the body’s production of collagen, elastin, and natural hyaluronic acid. These effects help to reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles while improving the skin’s overall quality and texture.
Is there an ideal age for someone getting Profhilo?
Profhilo is ideal for patients over the age of 30 who are noticing some mild to moderate skin laxity but are not yet ready to undergo alternative, more intensive treatments like dermal fillers or surgical procedures.
How long does Profhilo treatment last?
The effects of Profhilo can be visible for up to 6-9 months after the second treatment.
Does Profhilo treatment hurt?
Profhilo treatment shouldn’t be painful, though patients may experience a minor scratching sensation as the needles are inserted into the skin. To reduce any discomfort, numbing cream can be applied to the area prior to treatment.
What should you not do after getting Profhilo treatment?
You should avoid touching or applying makeup to the treatment areas for the first 12-24 hours after treatment. Exercise and alcohol should also be avoided for 48 hours. Do not undergo any chemical peels, laser, or other skin treatments for 14 days. Finally, you should avoid extreme sun exposure, UV light, freezing temperatures, and saunas for the first two weeks after treatment.
Are there risks associated with Profhilo?
Like any cosmetic treatment, there are risks associated with the Profhilo treatment process. These include irregularities/lumpiness, infection, allergic reactions, nerve injuries, haematoma, discolouration among others. Prior to treatment, you will be made aware of all the relevant risks of treatment by Dr. Sabina.
