BBL for Hip Dips

Beautiful Female Back And Buttlocks

In addition to enhancing your butt, a BBL (Brazilian Butt Lift) provides a range of other benefits, including improving the appearance of hip dips. Below, we’ll explain how our surgeons use BBL for hip dips.

What are Hip Dips?

Hip dips, also called violin hips, are depressions that develop in the side of the hips. The depression develops between the ilium (the large bone in the upper region of the hip) and the hip socket.

The extent of the dip varies from person to person based on their skeletal structure, as the longer the distance between the ilium and the hip socket, the deeper the dip appears. Conversely, those with rounder hips tend to have less pronounced hip dips as the distance between the two bones is shorter.

What Causes Hip Dips?

Hip dips are an inherent part of your anatomical structure, although they appear more prominently in some people. Women are more likely to have pronounced hip dips due to having wider hips than men. Genetics determines your skeletal structure, which in turn determines the formation of hip dips. However, your body fat and muscle distribution affect how pronounced the hip dips appear. Having less body fat and muscle mass around the hips and glutes makes the indentation more visible.

How to Get Rid of Hip Dips

Technically speaking, you won’t be able to get rid of hip dips as they are a natural part of your bone structure. However, there are a few solutions that can help you improve its appearance:

Exercises that enhance your glutes or abductors (such as glute bridges, lunges, and squats) will build lean muscle around your hips, helping to round out the hips and cover the hip dips. To build muscle, you must combine your exercise routine with a healthy diet that is high in proteins and healthy fats.

Some cosmetic treatments can improve the hip dips, for example:

  • Surgeons can inject fillers into the area to fill out the dips and create an hourglass figure. However, patients will need to repeat the treatment every couple of years to maintain results.
  • Fat grafting is a popular plastic surgery to fix hip dips as it uses the patient’s fat to cover up the depressions.

Fat Grafting/BBL

A Brazilian Butt Lift is a cosmetic surgery that uses fat grafting (also known as fat transfer or fat injections) to enhance and reshape the buttocks and fill out hip dips. Excess fat is extracted from one part of the body using liposuction and transferred to another area, in this case, the buttocks and hips.

Benefits

BBL is the most popular buttock augmentation and hip dip surgery because, in addition to adding volume to the butt and hips, it provides a range of benefits for the patient:

  • Fat grafting allows the surgeon to reshape your butt and hips according to your desired BBL shape, thus providing you with curves and rounded hips that conceal your hip dips.
  • By removing excess fat from other areas of your body, such as your abdomen, a BBL can further sculpt your body.
  • BBL appears more natural and leaves less scarring than buttock implants
  • The BEST-F technique developed by Dr Omar Tillo is a safer procedure with fewer risks than the traditional BBL.

Before and After

Cost

The cost of BBL surgery for hip dips at the CREO clinic in London generally starts from £7,900. However, as BBL is a bespoke treatment, the cost of the cosmetic treatment may vary depending on the liposuction treatment areas and surgical needs of each patient. You will receive the exact cost of your BBL /hip dip surgery after consulting with our BBL surgeon, Dr Omar Tillo.

Procedure

A BBL using the BEST-F technique takes around 2-4 hours to perform. The surgeon completes this fat transfer by first performing liposuction on targeted areas of the body. The harvested fat is then processed and prepared for transfer. Finally, the surgeon injects the fat superficially into specific areas of the butt and hips with the aid of a guided ultrasound device to recreate your desired shape and fill hip dips for an even appearance.

Recovery

You may experience swelling and bruising in your buttocks and hips and around the area where you had liposuction, which will gradually subside over a few weeks. After 2-3 weeks, most patients can return to work and light daily activities and exercise after four weeks. You will receive aftercare instructions to help you manage your recovery and preserve your fat grafts.

Results

Your buttocks and hips will look enhanced, correcting the appearance of hip dips, immediately after the plastic surgery. However, you can fully appreciate your BBL results after the swelling subsides and the fat grafts settle. For most patients, it takes 3-6 months for their results to emerge. By this time, your fat cells will stabilise, and you will enter the fluffing stage of your fat transfer recovery, where your skin expands to accommodate the fat grafts.

Is BBL Safe?

In most cases, the safety of a BBL procedure depends on the experience and training of the surgeon and the surgical techniques they use.

Dr Tillo uses a safe technique known as BEST-F (Buttock Enhancement and Superficial Transfer of Fat), which he has performed on hundreds of patients. By injecting the fat superficially over the gluteal muscle with the help of a guided ultrasound device, this technique avoids many of the complications that occur from a traditional BBL. In addition, Dr Tillo is a double-board certified plastic surgeon who is a key opinion leader on BBL surgery.
