While injectable lip fillers can be an excellent treatment for people who have lack or have lost significant lip volume, there are some people that may prefer to avoid lip filler injections. Some may have an aversion to needles, for example, or feel concerned about the possible complications such as bruising, swelling or vascular occlusion. Whatever your concern, there are alternatives available that can achieve similar results and offer more security from side-effects.

The Best Needleless Lip Filler Alternatives

Fotona LipLase

The CREO Clinic offers targeted Fotona LipLase treatment to volumize and smooth lips without using filler injections. LipLase is a holistic treatment that not only gives instant plumpness to the lips but also smooths their texture, including wrinkles and smokers lines around the natural contours of the lip area.

LipLase works by stimulating the lower and upper lip area using Er:YAG and Nd:YAG laser energy to stimulate the production of collagen. Collagen gives strength and elasticity to the skin, smoothing out fine lines and plumping up the lips. The treatment is non-invasive, requires no downtime, and its enhancements are long lasting – up to 6 months before a top up may be required. Its effects can be more modest than lip fillers, but our patients are always delighted by the aesthetic improvements it makes.

Topical Hyaluronic Acid Lip

Hyaluronic acid (HA) is an ingredient used in many natural lip fillers and lip enhancing products. It occurs naturally in the body and is reported to create fuller lips by attracting and retaining water in the skin, giving them volume and hydration.

HA can be applied needle-free and topically using lip pencils, glosses, serums, or balms, and can help to plump and smooth the lips by increasing the hydration of the top layers of skin. These topical applications may make temporary improvements, but there is little clinical evidence for their efficacy as a lip plumper, and they are unlikely to offer long lasting lip enhancement.

Lip Masks For Better Hydration

Lip masks generally come in either a palm or a bio cellulose gel that can be applied to the lips then left for a period – sometimes overnight – before it is removed. Lip masks can contain different types of moisturisers that ensure your lips are hydrated and help to nourish your lips.

The effect of lip masks as a lip filler alternative is often limited, and may differ in effectiveness between different varieties. Use of lip masks cannot be considered as a way to achieve significant enhancements to the lips and lip area.

Hydrafacial Perk Treatment

Hydrafacial Perk is technology designed to administer hydration serums to the lips and other areas of skin. It contains different hydrating ingredients such as peony extract and peppermint that may help improve lip plumpness. It can be applied at home to maximise results, but Hydrafacial Perk is unlikely to create significant changes to the lips, and is often used as a complementary treatment to more long-term alternatives, such as LipLase.

LipLase is cheaper than lip filler while still providing high-quality results. LipLase creates deep lying neocollagenesis – improving the lips and the skin around the lips in a holistic and long lasting way. The Fotona laser is precise and generally provides even results.
