Full Mummy Makeover

A woman’s body goes through several significant changes following pregnancy and childbirth. These changes can cause many women to seek cosmetic surgery procedures to restore their pre-pregnancy figure.

A ‘mummy makeover procedure’ combines different cosmetic surgeries in one procedure, resulting in a dramatic, comprehensive transformation.

This type of surgery can range from a simple combination of procedures to the full makeover package, with the extensiveness of the treatment dependent on the needs and desired aesthetic of the patient.

Our head body contouring surgeon, Dr Omar Tillo, has the specialist knowledge and experience required to complete any combination of procedures involved in a mummy makeover.

What is a Full Mummy Makeover?

A full mummy makeover consists of different cosmetic surgery procedures that aim to help restore women to their pre-baby body. Typically, this combination of surgeries includes liposuction, abdominoplasty, breast uplift, and fat transfer to the hips.

It’s worth noting that some patients choose to vary this combination according to their individual needs. For example, some women choose to have breast augmentation instead of a breast lift.

Procedures Included in a Full Mummy Makeover

360 Liposuction

One or mulitple pregnancies typically result in weight gain, with several areas of the body (including the upper stomach, lower stomach, upper flanks, and lower flanks) all developing higher levels of excess fat. 360 liposuction is a treatment that removes these pockets of excess fat, allowing women to achieve a more sculpted figure and regain their pre-pregnancy contours.

Abdominoplasty

Abdominoplasty or a “tummy tuck” is a procedure designed to remove excess skin around the stomach and tightens the abdominal muscles. As a result, women can achieve a flatter, more toned stomach and can repair any muscle separation or stretch marks caused by the strains of pregnancy and childbirth.

Breast Lift

A breast lift, also known as mastopexy, is a cosmetic procedure that lifts and reshapes drooping breasts (ptosis) by removing excess skin and reshaping breast tissue. The main aim of the popular treatment is to provide patients with perkier, more youthful-looking breasts.

Fat Transfer to The Hips

Hip augmentation or hip dip fat transfer involves fat being drawn from one part of the body and then injected into the hips. This procedure helps to sculpt the hip and thigh area, providing women with a more contoured silhouette while also correcting hip dips (naturally occurring depressions on the outside part of the upper legs).

Mummy Makeover FAQs

Should I get a full mummy makeover or a regular one?

Choosing between a full mummy makeover or a regular one depends on each patient’s needs and desires. You can discuss these with Dr Tillo during your initial consultation.

The main difference between the two is the addition of four areas of liposuction and fat transfer to the hips. So if you’re looking for the unique advantages of this addition, you may prefer a full makeover over a standard procedure.

What is the weight limit for a mummy makeover?

Here at the CREO Clinic, patients need to be under a BMI of 30 for excisional surgery. If you have a BMI of around 30 or higher, your surgeon will advise you on weight loss before surgery to ensure safe and optimal results. Working with a dietician can help with this.

How many sizes can I drop with a mummy makeover?

Some women can expect to go down one or two sizes after a mummy makeover, while others may drop down more. The number of sizes you drop depends on several factors, including your original starting point, as well as the specific mummy makeover procedures chosen.

What are the risks of a full mummy makeover?

Like any surgical procedure, a mummy makeover comes with some risks and complications. These include infection, bleeding, necrosis, and scarring. However, these risks are minimised when working with an experienced, board-certified surgeon.
