Types of Breast Implant Removals

1. Standard Breast Implant Removal

A standard breast implant removal involves the simple extraction of your existing implants. For patients who want breast implants removed without addressing their shape or size further, a standard breast implant removal may be sufficient for their needs.

2. Breast Implant Replacement

Implant replacement is an exchange of implants – existing implants will be removed and then replaced with new ones. To address this issue, a capsulectomy, which involves the surgical removal of the protective scar tissue capsule, can be performed during breast explant surgery. This procedure can remove all (en bloc capsulectomy) or part of the capsule (capsulectomy) to alleviate symptoms and restore the natural feel and appearance of the breasts.
