A Skinny Brazilian Butt Lift can provide dramatic results for patients with a lower BMI looking to enhance the body by moving small amounts of fat to the buttocks.
In this blog, we will discuss the procedure in more detail so that you can understand whether it’s the right cosmetic surgery for you and your body.
Dr. Omar Tillo has pioneered the safer BEST-F technique for BBL procedures at the CREO Clinic. With years of experience performing the skinny type of BBL, Dr. Tillo is best placed to perform your surgery and get you on track to your ideal body.
What Is A Skinny BBL?
A Brazilian Butt Lift (BBL) can be adapted for patients with less excess fat available to use for fat transfer. This is known as a skinny BBL. Patients with a lower Body Mass Index may think they do not qualify for this procedure but can still achieve dramatic results by moving even small amounts of fat to the buttocks.
Skinny BBL Vs. Regular BBL
For a regular BBL, more fat is available (around 1000ml for each side of the buttocks) to be collected via liposuction and transferred to the buttocks compared to a skinny version (around 500ml per side). For skinnier patients, the surgeon may need to perform liposuction across more areas of the body to harvest a sufficient amount of fat.
Who Is A Good Candidate For A Skinny BBL?
Men and women with a BMI between 18 and 23 who are in good physical health are usually ideal candidates for a skinny BBL.
How Much Fat Is Needed For A Skinny BBL?
You will need some excess fat that can be moved to the buttocks, usually around the abdomen or thighs. In general, surgeons usually require 1-2 litres of fat extracted via liposuction to be injected in doses of 0.5-1 litre to each buttock, creating a pronounced enhancement.
However, slimmer patients may require less fat to create a curvy and noticeable effect.
How Is A Skinny BBL Performed?
First, liposuction removes excess fat from areas around the buttocks, such as the stomach, hips, and thighs. As patients with a lower BMI are likely to have less fat, liposuction may be performed on more areas of the body to harvest a sufficient amount for transfer.
This fat is then purified before being injected into specific parts of the buttocks to achieve the desired BBL shape. To reduce the risk of pulmonary embolisms, Dr. Tillo uses the safer BEST-F technique for fat transfer, where fat is injected above the gluteal muscle instead of underneath or into it.
What Are The Results Like From A Skinny BBL?
The projection and volume achieved with a skinny BBL will depend on the amount of fat transferred. However, even transferring small amounts of fat can create noticeably more voluminous buttocks in slimmer patients.
It typically takes six months for the final BBL results to be visible after all swelling has dissipated and the fat grafts have stabilised.
What Is The Skinny BBL Recovery Process Like?
Following a skinny BBL, you may experience side effects such as swelling and bruising around the buttocks and in the areas where you have had liposuction. In general, most patients can resume light activities, including a return to office work, 2-3 weeks after surgery.

How Much Does A Skinny BBL Cost?
At the CREO Clinic, the cost of a skinny BBL starts from £7,900. This price can vary, however, depending on a patient’s surgical needs and the number of liposuction zones that need to be targeted to harvest the required amount of fat.
Therefore, a full cost breakdown will only be available following a 1-to-1 consultation with Dr. Omar Tillo.
