BodyTite London What is BodyTite? BodyTite is a radiofrequency assisted body contouring procedure using a minimally invasive device by Inmode, in conjunction with liposuction or as a standalone treatment. BodyTite applies radiofrequency (RF) energy to help eliminate fatty tissue and tighten the skin simultaneously, adding definition to the targeted areas. BodyTite can be performed alone as a highly effective body contouring procedure, or in conjunction with traditional liposuction, gynecomastia or breast augmentation for more comprehensive results. Due to its exceptional tightening results and it’s shorter downtime compared to more invasive body contouring procedures, many patients seek to undergo BodyTite. The CREO Clinic’s body contouring surgeon, Dr. Omar Tillo, has the specialist training and expertise to perform this advanced technological treatment. If you are considering having a BodyTite treatment in London, contact the CREO Clinic today and we’ll help you make the best decision for your cosmetic goals. Bodytite makes use of radiofrequency (RF) energy to heat excess fat, dissolving it so it can be removed via liposuction. The RF waves also work to tighten the excess skin above the areas fat is removed from. A tiny incision is made to allow one RF probe to slide seamlessly under your skin while the other probe remains outside. Electrical currents are passed between the two probes, quickly working to dissolve the subcutaneous fat. The heat created stimulates fibroblasts, which will begin the process of producing greater collagen and elastin over time, tightening up the surface of the skin. Which Areas Can BodyTite Treat? BodyTite can be performed around the body in areas where patients have mild lax skin and stubborn fatty deposits that can’t be removed with diet and exercise alone. Abdomen (‘muffin tops’, hanging belly after C-section) Back (‘love handles’, bra bulges) Chest (‘man boobs’ or gynecomastia) Inner and outer thighs (‘saddlebags’) Mons Pubis Buttocks Bra strap fat Upper arms (‘bingo arms’ or ‘bat wings’) Anywhere you are experiencing loose skin or excess fat pockets Advantages of Choosing BodyTite Like other fat removal procedures, BodyTite effectively targets and eliminates stubborn fat deposits which may be resistant to traditional methods like a healthy diet and exercise. There are many advantages to choosing this minimally invasive procedure compared to other options such as traditional liposuction. One-Off Treatment One of the most important advantages is that BodyTite is a one-off procedure. Most patients will find that one treatment per area of the body is necessary, each lasting between 1-2 hours. If necessary, this can be repeated a year after the initial treatment. Remove Excess Fat And Tightens Skin BodyTite works on two levels: First and foremost, it tightens and smooths out the excess skin at the treatment site. Second, it has the added benefit of simultaneously reducing pockets of stubborn, unwanted fat. This double impact makes it extremely cost-effective.. Minimises Blood Vessel Damage Heating your excess fat cells via RF energy allows for a gentler extraction of the fat and helps minimise damage to blood vessels. This can reduce bruising and swelling post-surgery. Minimally Invasive One tiny incision is sufficient for the Bodytite probe to access your subcutaneous fat. Local Anaesthetic In some cases, this surgical procedure can be performed using local anaesthetic rather than general anaesthetic. However, some patients may prefer to receive BodyTite under sedation – at the CREO Clinic we offer both local anaesthetic or sedation according to your preference. Fewer Risks Than Surgery The straightforward nature of the BodyTite procedure means you face far fewer risks than with traditional body contouring surgery. BodyTite is ideal for patients with low to moderate lax skin (higher levels of laxity will likely benefit more from a tummy tuck) such as those experiencing ‘post-pregnancy tummy’, where the abdominal skin has been stretched. Another benefit of BodyTite is its ability to remove small amounts of stubborn fatty tissue accumulations that may accompany lax skin at the treatment sites. However, for patients who have larger amounts of fat to remove, liposuction may be a more suitable option. BodyTite is not a weight loss solution and is best suited to those who are already at their desired BMI. The ideal patient for this procedure currently maintains a relatively healthy lifestyle and is looking to achieve additional body sculpting and reshaping. If you are pregnant or currently breastfeeding you will not be suitable for a BodyTite procedure and will need to wait six months to treat the abdomen, and 2-3 months to treat areas unaffected by the pregnancy, such as the arms or thighs. During a consultation with Dr. Tillo, you will discuss the areas of reduced skin laxity and unwanted fat pockets that concern you and whether BodyTite is the best option for you. A full medical history will also be taken during your consultation to uncover any allergies, medication administration or other factors which might be unsuitable for any of the treatments that we offer – at the CREO Clinic, your safety is of paramount importance. How Much Does BodyTite Cost? The cost of BodyTite at the CREO Clinic in London will depend on the size of the area that you are treating. You will discuss a bespoke treatment plan and a corresponding price with our plastic surgeon. Prices for this cosmetic procedure start from £6,900. Included in this price is the procedure itself and the continuing aftercare provided by the CREO Clinic. Should you wish to explore spreading the cost of your treatment over a longer period, financing services are available through our partner, Chrysalis Finance. Our BodyTite procedure in London can also be combined with other cosmetic treatments, priced separately. What to Expect Consultation Your consultation is a collaborative conversation between you and your surgeon, where you will have the time you need in a relaxed setting to fully explain the concerns you have around your skin laxity and unwanted pockets of fatty tissue. After your surgeon has fully understood your needs and body goals, they will begin to formulate a bespoke treatment plan to help resolve your issues with lax skin. Preparing for the Procedure In preparation for the procedure there are some important recommendations you should follow: Medications that contain aspirin should not be taken for no less than one week prior to your surgery. You should abstain from alcohol for at least six hours before BodyTite, as well as refraining from food or drink that is not water, black tea or black coffee – these can be consumed up to two hours before the procedure. You should stop smoking six weeks before your procedure, as it can pose risks such as slower healing of your incisions. During the Procedure To start, your plastic surgeon marks the areas on your body to be treated with BodyTite. Numbing solutions are then introduced under the skin to eliminate pain or discomfort of the procedure. Your surgeon then creates small entry points, approximately 2-3 mm wide, which will enable the BodyTite’s cannula to enter under the skin and deliver radiofrequency energy in order to extract fat cells. These entry points are carefully positioned to be hidden and should heal swiftly following the procedure, minimising any scarring or skin tone variations. The BodyTite handpiece consists of a probe which is also an aspirating cannula, this enters the skin while an electrode remains outside of the skin above the cannula. The cannula is then moved gently around the fat layer whilst the electrode glides along the surface on a thin layer of gel applied for easier gliding. The procedure takes approximately 1-2 hours depending on the size of the area being treated. Recovery and Aftercare A follow-up appointment is usually required after one week to change dressings and evaluate the healing process. You can expect to return to your normal activities, including work, after 2-3 days. Returning to intense exercise would require more time and is usually possible after 3-6 weeks depending on the extent of treatment and or individual healing factors. Wearing a compression garment to apply light pressure while your body heals will improve your results and reduce swelling. Results Fat reduction induced by BodyTite is immediately visible. You will be able to see a difference in skin tightness and circumference of an area immediately. Further improvements will be noticeable once any swelling and bruising have subsided. Skin tightening will continue over the next 4-6 months, working towards your new, more sculpted look. BodyTite FAQs What is the difference between BodyTite and liposuction? BodyTite differs from liposuction in that Liposuction focuses solely on unwanted fat removal, whereas Bodytite mostly works to tighten the skin, while also removing pockets of fat. However, BodyTite is less focused on fat removal than straightforward Liposuction. BodyTite also has a shorter recovery time and can be performed under sedation or local anaesthetic, whereas liposuction is generally performed under sedation or general anaesthetic. Will I lose weight from BodyTite? As BodyTite removes unwanted fat, you will lose a minimal amount of weight as a result of the procedure. However, weight loss will be minimal as BodyTite is not designed to help you lose significant weight throughout the body, but rather to target and remove small, specific pockets of stubborn fat. Does BodyTite reduce cellulite? While the procedure is not designed with cellulite reduction in mind, the fat reduction and skin tightening process of BodyTite should work to decrease the appearance of cellulite in the target areas it is applied to. How many BodyTite treatments will I need? Our surgeons will complete your BodyTite procedure in one treatment session. If you desire to top up the results of the procedure, it can be repeated after 12 months. Does the BodyTite procedure hurt? Our surgeons perform BodyTite treatment under local anaesthesia injected to the treated area to avoid any discomfort. The process of placing the anaesthesia, which is an infiltration liquid, can be a little uncomfortable for some people. For those who prefer it, or are especially sensitive to pain, BodyTite can also be performed under sedation. Our plastic surgeons are experts in pain management and will make sure that you are comfortable throughout the procedure. How long is the recovery period? From the BodyTite procedure to a full recovery, including the resumption of strenuous exercise, may take between 3-6 weeks. Returning to everyday light activities such as work, usually takes 2-3 days. After BodyTite combined with Liposuction you should be able to return to light activities and work after a few days, but to resume a full routine, including strenuous exercise, you should wait until 2-3 weeks after your surgery. When can I return to work? Most patients feel comfortable returning to work after 2-3 days, when side effects have begun to dissipate. What are the possible side effects of BodyTite? You may experience some swelling, redness, pain, tenderness and bruising after the BodyTite treatment — this will usually resolve within a week. Some of the initial swelling is due to the local anaesthetic fluid used during the procedure. The incisions created are small and heal quickly with no stitches necessary. However, in the first 24 hours you can expect some leakage of fluid from the incisions which will be dressed to prevent infection. How long until I see the results? Significant tightening and reductions in fat pockets from your BodyTite treatment should be visible immediately, improving continuously over the next 4-6 months. If undergoing liposuction with BodyTite, results will become visible once swelling has subsided — usually between 6-12 weeks into your recovery. Final results of both procedures will be visible from 6-12 months. How long will the results from BodyTite last? Results from a BodyTite procedure are expected to last 2-4 years, and the minimally invasive cosmetic procedure can be repeated after 12 months to ‘top up’ the results.
