Procedure

For a traditional tummy tuck, the procedure is performed under general anaesthesia or sedation and typically takes 3 hours. This time will vary if you get other types of this procedure like a mini tummy tuck. Your tummy surgeon will begin by making an incision along the base of the lower abdomen and around the belly button. After this, depending on the amount of lax skin removed, the belly button may be repositioned to create a natural finish.  

Recovery

Most patients are able to recommence light, daily activities, and return to work two weeks after their tummy tuck. However, patients are advised to avoid strenuous activities for the first 8 weeks after your plastic surgery. Patients will also need to wear a compression garment to reduce swelling and further contour their abdomen as they recover. 

Results
