As labial reduction surgery is an individualised procedure, the cost will only be determined following consultation with our cosmetic surgeon, Dr Omar Tillo. In general, the cost of the procedure is broken down as follows:
At the CREO Clinic, pricing for labiaplasty surgery as described above includes:
Your surgeon may prescribe pain relief medication to ease discomfort immediately after surgery which you will have to purchase separately. Tests, scans, and chaperone services are also available at an additional cost if required.
In addition, any complimentary cosmetic treatments you may wish to undergo will also be priced separately.
As a cosmetic procedure, labiaplasty is not usually covered by the NHS or private insurers. However, it may be offered in rare cases – for example, if the vaginal lips are abnormal if done to repair tears after childbirth or to remove cancerous tissue. Check with your insurance provider or local NHS trust if you think you may meet any of these criteria.
If you are considering labiaplasty surgery, it is important to find a cosmetic surgeon that is both qualified and experienced in this specialist procedure. Make sure you check your surgeon’s qualifications to ensure they are board-certified, and can demonstrate extensive training in their medical background.
Additionally, research your surgeon’s experience performing labiaplasty specifically, as this will ensure they have honed the necessary skills and artistry to produce optimum results. Finally, do some research into the safety procedures your surgeon will take throughout your labia reduction procedure.
Surgeons often use a range of different techniques for labiaplasty, adapting them to the unique needs of their patients. In general, labiaplasty surgeries are performed under local anaesthetic and take around 1-2 hours to complete.
After administering an anaesthetic, the surgeon removes the excess tissue of the labia minora using a scalpel, tucking it beneath the labia majora (the external tissue around the vaginal opening). Finally, the surgeon uses dissolvable stitches to close the incisions.
Immediately after vaginal tightening surgery, you may notice some soreness, swelling, and bruising. This should gradually dissipate within the first two weeks of surgery.
Most patients are able to resume normal daily activities. It may take up to 6-8 weeks for the area to fully heal, and you should refrain from strenuous exercise, sexual intercourse, and wearing excessively tight clothing in the meantime.
The time taken to see the final results of the labiaplasty surgery varies between 6-12 weeks post procedure after swelling subsides.
After 12 weeks have passed, you should be able to enjoy the permanent benefits of your labiaplasty operation.
Labiaplasty surgery is regarded as a worthwhile procedure for women who report aesthetic concerns or physical discomfort due to their labia., The procedure has high patient satisfaction due to its potential to significantly boost quality of life.
There are some less invasive alternatives to labiaplasty, though these treatments are limited in their effectiveness. Instead, labiaplasty is a far more effective procedure that can have a transformative impact to permanently enhance the aesthetic of your labia. Above all it is a highly effective procedure – one that has helped many women feel more comfortable in the skin they live in.
For many women, the issues behind the decision to undergo labiaplasty are aesthetic. This could simply be a dislike of the natural appearance of the labia, or it could be related to tears sustained during childbirth. In rare cases, women may experience tissue removal due to vulval cancer, and wish to address the changes this created.
There are multiple important and benefits provided by labia majora or labia minora reduction surgery, many of which are permanent.
Certain procedures performed alongside labiaplasty can enhance your overall aesthetic in complementary ways. There are two procedures frequently chosen to accompany labiaplasty:
Labiaplasty can sometimes benefit from fat transfer in order to reshape the outer lips, or labia majora. This means using liposuction to remove fat pockets from the area(s) around the body where it is in excess and using the extracted fat to adjust the size of the labia.
The main benefit of this technique is its unique capacity to remodel the labia, but it also provides more definition in the areas where stubborn fat pockets are removed.
The mummy makeover consists of multiple surgeries that aim to restore areas of the body affected by pregnancy and child rearing such as the breasts and tummy.
The most common combination of procedures is a tummy tuck, breast augmentation, and liposuction. The labia, another area typically affected by childbirth, can also be addressed as part of/in addition to the mummy makeover – this can add to the remodelling effect and accentuate the overall results.
There are a few important steps the CREO Clinic advises you to follow before your labiaplasty:n- Avoid alcohol for two weeks before surgeryn- Stop taking HRT or oral contraceptives n- Reach a BMI of 30 or below – use our BMI calculator to check your BMIn- Prepare the home to make your recovery as comfortable as possible
This is a common question with many myths surrounding it — the answer is no, labiaplasty does not affect sensation in the vagina or clitoris.nnIn fact, labiaplasty can greatly improve the sex life by helping you to feel more comfortable and less self-conscious in bed.
Most women find that they can walk within the first week of their labiaplasty recovery, although caution should be taken not to overexert yourself during the initial stages.
In general, labiaplasty stitches take between 1-6 weeks to dissolve.
