Mini BBL A Brazilian Butt Lift (BBL) is a type of fat transfer procedure where excess fat is removed around various parts of the body via liposuction and injected into the hips and buttocks to add volume and achieve a given buttock shape. A Mini BBL, by contrast, involves liposuction to two areas only. This is typically the lower flanks and upper thighs, as these areas offer the best possible enhancement. Alternatively, some patients may choose to target the upper and lower flanks as opposed to the thighs. Overall, a smaller amount of fat is collected and transferred during a mini BBL compared to a full BBL. At the CREO Clinic, Dr. Omar Tillo has pioneered the safest practice in fat transfer using the Buttock and Superficial Transfer of Fat (BEST-F) technique. This alternative approach to traditional BBL surgery significantly reduces the risk of fat embolisms by injecting fat above and not below or into the gluteal muscles. If you are looking to undergo a Mini BBL, schedule a consultation with Dr. Tillo where you can discuss your aesthetic goals, ask any necessary questions, and evaluate your eligibility for the procedure. A mini BBL is ideal for patients seeking mild enhancement only. A Mini BBL requires less time in surgery compared to a full BBL. As a Mini BBL involves only two areas of liposuction, the cost is much less than a traditional, full BBL. Recovery from a Mini BBL is shorter and more comfortable as it does not require liposuction to the abdomen, unlike a traditional BBL. How Much Does a Mini BBL Cost? The cost of your BBL will depend on the type of BBL chosen. Compared to a traditional BBL, a Mini BBL costs less as the number of liposuction areas is reduced and the subsequent amount of fat transferred is smaller. At the CREO Clinic, the price of a Mini BBL starts from £8,900. Following a 1-to-1 consultation with Dr. Tillo, you will know whether your body is best suited for a mini or full BBL, and the relevant cost breakdown will be provided. Mini BBL Procedure A Mini BBL can be carried out under sedation and typically takes 1-2 hours to complete. To begin, small incisions are made in the upper thighs and lower flanks through which a suction cannula is inserted. The required amount of fat is then broken up with ease using Power Assisted Liposuction (PAL) and safely removed. Finally, the surgeon closes the incisions using stitches. The removed fat is then purified and prepared for injection into the hips and buttocks. The exact placement of these injections will vary depending on which areas patients wish to add volume. Importantly, the fat is injected over the gluteal muscle using the BEST-F technique, and an ultrasound scanner is used to further ensure that no fat is injected into the muscle. Finally, stitches are used to close the incision sites. How Long is Mini BBL Recovery? Your surgeon will provide you with thorough aftercare instructions to ensure you have the smoothest possible recovery. Immediately after surgery, you may experience side effects such as swelling and soreness in both the liposuction and fat transfer sites. The exact amount of downtime required varies from patient to patient but is typically less significant than a full BBL. In general, patients usually feel able to resume light, daily activities, including a return to work, after one week. However, patients will need to wait 2-3 weeks before engaging in light exercise after their mini BBL. Three months after surgery, patients can also expect to experience a ‘fluffing stage’, a 6-8 week period in which the skin expands to accommodate the injected fat grafts. After the buttock has fluffed, it should look and feel more natural. When Can You See Results From a Mini BBL? Following your Mini BBL, you will be able to immediately notice your more contoured lower flanks and upper thighs. Your buttocks may appear significantly more voluminous than expected due to post surgical-swelling as well as the fat grafts. During the first 3-6 months, the body naturally absorbs between 30-50% of the injected fat. However, your surgeon will account for this when determining how much fat is injected. It can take up to six months for the final Mini BBL results to become visible, as all swelling will have fully dissipated, and the fat grafts will have stabilised. After this, you will be able to notice a more contoured figure and enhanced buttocks. Book A Consultation A Mini BBL is a niche procedure that few surgeons are qualified to perform. A Mini BBL is a type of Brazilian Butt Lift surgery that involves the removal and transfer of fat from two liposuction zones only. This enhances the targeted areas by contouring the liposuction zones and adding volume to the hips and buttocks. Does a mini BBL help with hip dips? Hip dips are natural depressions that develop along the side of the hips between the ilium (the large bone in the upper part of the hip) and the hip socket. A Mini BBL can treat the appearance of hip dips by injecting the fat grafts to fill out the depressions. How much is a mini BBL?
